Acu-Vib Electronics

Acu-Vib Electronics needed a much needed update on their website. There was 3 different domains spanning across 2 platforms. I was able to undertake a complete new WordPress build with a fresh theme. The project included migrating off old systems and bringing across all the content from the platforms. The project included setup, design, development, content migration, testing, launch and training.

Today, I continue to provide ongoing changes and support including assisting with digital marketing like email newsletters and advertising.

Which platform?

Choosing a platform is not always as straight forward as it might first seem. WordPress is the obvious choice for bloggers but depending on your requirements and budget, there are a lot of different choices.

WordPress

WordPress.org boasts that 35% of the web uses WordPress. It has a vast number of themes created for you to choose from, endless plugins to add functionality and is open source and free. Not to be confused with WordPress.com which offers an easy setup but less freedom and customisation.

Wix

Wix is a popular website builder that aims at non-technical users who want to be able to manage their websites. If you need a quick and easy website that doesn't require much customisations then this could be an option for you.

Squarespace

Squarespace is a direct competitor to Wix and another website builder option. The next level up from Wix allowing more creative choices and better design templates available.

Drupal

Drupal is an open source Content Management System (CMS) Platform. Like WordPress, Drupal is free and offers its own version of plugins called modules. Unlike WordPress, Drupal can be a bit more technical to manage. If you have the need for a proper CMS and your website is going to have a lot of pages and users, this could be for you.

Bootstrap

Bootstrap is a HTML, CSS and JavaScript library that allows developers to easily create easy, mobile-first websites like the one this website is built on. Making changes and editing a Boostrap or hard-coded website may require some HTML and CSS knowledge. Best if you are planning on having a fairly static website that requires very little updating and maintenance.

Squiz Matrix

Squiz Matrix is an enterprise CMS aimed at organisations with larger websites. Squiz Matrix allows advanced functionality such as asset listing pages, metadata schemas, API support and extensive user permissions.
